Characters in Horror+My Characters+My Plot+ Titles

Before planning my characters, I decided to do some research in to the types of characters that appear in Horror Movies.

HERO: In slasher films, there are a number of typical characters, the hero or the heroine. This character eventually defeats the murderer using their wit and intelligence. Generally, they are a virgin and are tall with dark hair but generally, can be any hair colour. Generally, they are young or of high school age. The hero is never a part of the scene with horror movie nudity. She is the person that will undoubtedly last through the whole movie, because she is probably the first character introduced and the only one with moral values and an immense force of will.

BEST FRIEND: Also known as "the smart guy" and "the totally platonic best friend"
 Anyway, the best friend is usually either the most likeable or most excruciatingly annoying character in the movie, because they are almost always the the comic relief . They are either the first or last to die, too; either they figure out what's going on, tries to escape and is killed, or they last until the end, devises the plan to eliminate the threat, and dies as a sacrifice so that the hero can carry out the plan.

THE KILLER- There are two types of killers in slasher films: The supernatural killer who keeps coming back and who really doesn't have a pertinent connection to any of the other characters, and the friend that everyone is shocked to find out was behind it all along.

MY PLOT

Five childhood friends become entangled in a muderous plot when one of their high school friends is found murdered in their old stomping ground.


My influences for this movie are Evil Dead, The Ring, Hide and Seek, Prom Night.

My Characters

Matt- The main character. Is wounded by the accident, becomes haunted with visions and nightmares of what happened to his friend. (HERO)

Louise- A friend of the group. She is the first to get killed.

Jacob- The school bully. It would be revealed through the movie that Matt and Jacob used to be best friends.

Natalie- The quiet girl. Revealed that she was the one who accidentally killed their childhood friend.(THE BEST FRIEND)

Carly- A classmate of Matt's who knows about the accident. (THE KILLER)

TITLES

As my film centres a lot around the theme of children, I decided to use words that have connotations of children. Mainly, I chose the theme of stories and tales and so I have decided to call my film, Storytime.
